Luke 7
Luke 7:47
He who is forgiven little, loves little.
There’s such a thing called playing not to lose. And, unfortunately, in our spirituality, this can often be our approach. We stay out of sin. We stay out of temptation. We stay out of conflict. All good things! But is this the sum total of Christianity? Playing not to lose? Maintaining an undefeated record? If it is then something cold begins to happen in our heart. Fear of failure sets in. And a fear to admit it! However, if there’s no failure, there’s no forgiveness. And, as Jesus indicates in verse 47, there’s little to no love. The path to more love is more forgiveness. So please don’t go looking for reasons to fail, but look for opportunities to admit it. The only one to have an undefeated record is Jesus.
