Luke 8

Luke 8:1-3
He went on through cities and villages, proclaiming and bringing the good news of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with him, and also some women… who provided for them out of their means.

 
It’s easy to overlook the last 8 words. We can easily breeze by and not recognize they’re there. We see the preaching of the gospel and recognize the discipling of men, and rejoice that ministry is moving forward. But what makes it all possible? The last 8 words.
 
It’s the last 8 words of ministry.
 
We walk into churches and are thankful for the proclamation of the gospel. We appreciate the fact there’s leadership and discipleship. We’re grateful for the use of facilities. We love that there’s organization and vision. We’re pleased that there’s a staff. But, please, don’t skim over the last 8 words.  These practical, yet beautiful, words make ministry into a reality.
