Luke 15

Luke 15:32
This your brother was dead, and is alive; he was lost, and is found.

Chapter 15 is all about recovering the lost. A sheep was lost, a coin was lost, and a son was lost. And when they were found, oh, the rejoicing that took place! Is there any greater purpose to life than being a part of God’s rescue mission? That’s the overall scheme of things – partnering with God to find souls.

I was recently reading the words of Charles Spurgeon where he said, “if you can live without souls, you will. And if you can’t live without souls, you won’t.” What a challenging statement. Do we hunger with everything we are for lost souls? I know I don’t, but I want to. Luke 15 is one of those paradigm-shifting passages. My prayer is that we would discover God’s burning desire lost people.
