Acts 16

Acts 16:6
They went through the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia.

Asia was a province on the western end of modern-day Turkey. It had remained untouched during Paul’s first missionary journey, and now he had hopes of going there during his second. But the Holy Spirit said, “No.”

Why? Why does God shut down perfectly good ideas? Why? You don’t want us to go to Asia??

So far as we can tell, no answer was provided. And after a series of closed doors they found themselves traveling to Europe. But isn’t it interesting that their first convert in Europe was a lady, who happened to be from Thyatira, a leading city from the province of Asia? And, as a result, her entire household was saved. Paul’s first converts in Europe, likely took the gospel back to Asia.

You may have a God-sized dream today, and God may take you in a different direction. But it might just be the way he brings it all to pass. Will you trust him in the moment? He wants this thing as much as or more than you.
