Romans 8

Romans 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

Condemnation = punishment. If you are abiding in Jesus and He in you, you no longer face eternal punishment. Conviction = declaration of guilt. We do all still face conviction because we are all still guilty. Guilty of missing the mark of God’s perfect will for our life, whether that be by walking in pride, anger, bitterness, unforgiveness or a host of other ways. Though we are guilty, our punishment has been taken, by Jesus, when He died on the cross once for all. The Devil will try to condemn you, saying you are not good enough to be forgiven. But the Holy Spirit convicts you, pointing out where you are falling short so you can repent: turn and go the other way, and receive the forgiveness that Jesus bought for you. Conviction is a gift that leads us to our friend, Repentance. Open that gift today!
