1 Corinthians 11
Let a person examine himself, then, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup.

You know how dirt builds up so gradually? You wash your car and as days go by it seems like it still looks good but then one day you swipe a finger across it and EW - it seems to have suddenly become caked in dust again! Our minds and hearts are like that - we may have a time of spiritual cleansing but day by day the dust of the world slowly builds up. We find ourselves thinking and feeling negatively, or we seem to have simply lost joy in life. The next time we take Communion together as a church, take a few moments to "examine" yourself - your heart, mind, motives, attitudes - and ask the Holy Spirit if they have lost their shine. Remembering what Jesus did for us is a great time to repent of any sin, submit ourselves to His will again, and be refreshed and renewed in our spirit!
