3 John 15
Greet the friends, each by name.

Do you know the people in your church by name?
Do you know the people in your neighborhood by name?
Do you know the people in your workplace by name?
Paul says, Greet the friends, each by name.

There’s just something about a person’s name.

You might say, “I’m terrible with names.” Well, I think most people are until they get intentional about it. And if people are important to us, we should value them enough to learn their name. Even the spelling of their name. Do we fuss over getting people’s names right? I think it’s worth the effort.

A name is like a precious key—a way into a person’s heart. Dale Carnegie once said that a person’s name is “the sweetest and most important sound in any language.” Therefore, pay good attention. And greet the friends, each by name.
