Daily devotional from Leviticus 1--
Verse 13:b
And the priest shall offer all of it and burn it on the altar; it is a burnt offering, a food offering with a pleasing aroma to the LORD.
It sounds like God likes the smell of BBQ, eh? I like the smell of BBQ! But while I am drawn to the savory aroma of tender marinated meats and vegetables slowly roasting over an open flame, God is drawn to the aroma of the offerer’s sacrificed WILL. Hosea 6:6 says “I want you to show love, not offer sacrifices.” (NLT) He doesn’t want things that we can give him, because he owns all things. He wants us to offer him, willingly, our whole hearts, our submitted will, and THAT is a pleasing aroma to God!
