Daily Devotional from Numbers 16--
Verses 47 and 48
So Aaron took it as Moses said and ran into the midst of the assembly. And behold, the plague had already begun among the people. And he put on the incense and made atonement for the people. And he stood between the dead and the living, and the plague was stopped.
Many times in the Old Testament you see the wrath of God halted, what stopped His wrath? Yes! Correct, it was people! The High Priest stood in the gap between the living and the dead and the plague from God was stopped.
Today there’s a new High Priest and we are called and commissioned to point people toward Him (Jesus). We intercede for those that are dying and the High Priest is standing in the gap with incense lifted for them and for us. We all had this plague and when it was killing us Jesus came and rescued us. Humans are sick and in need of a savior. Acknowledge you’re sick and believe in the One who saves and you’ll be saved.
Who can you be praying for today, who do you want to see released from the plague?
