2 Chronicles 14-15
Daily Devotional from 2 Chronicles 15—
Verse 2b
“Hear me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin: The Lord is with you while you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you.”
“I will never leave you nor forsake you.” – favorite words of mine, repeated many times in many different books of the Bible. They resonate with me because I’ve never had an earthly father who stuck around. When I became a Christian, I held onto these words because they spoke to me of a Father who would NEVER leave me.
But as we see in today’s reading, there is an assumption here. God assumes we won’t leave HIM. He promises not to leave us, but I believe we each have the will and the right to walk away from His love and grace if we choose to. If we walk away first, He walks away too.
The good news is, He is always there, ready and willing to take us back into his arms if we repent and choose to seek only Him. Let’s not even walk away! Seek Him with all your heart, mind, and soul and be blessed!
