Isaiah 35-36
Daily Devotional from Isaiah 35—
Verse10
And the ransomed of the Lord shall return and come to Zion with singing; everlasting joy shall be upon their heads; they shall obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
I don’t know about you, but I can get discouraged and disheartened listening to the news. It seems like our world just continues to get worse and worse. So much pain, so much sorrow. We pray and we wait for Jesus to return and take over, for Satan’s influence to end, for a new heaven and a new earth with no more sighing, crying or dying.
Verses like this give me HOPE. The only kind of hope that helps me weather the storms of this life on earth, because it points to that day when all wrongs WILL be made right, when we’ll finally get to see our savior Jesus face to face, and we’ll be able to rest from this weary burden and take a seat at the marriage supper of the Lamb of God. What a day to look forward to!
