Matthew 10

Matthew 10:5-6
Go nowhere among the Gentiles and enter no town of the Samaritans, but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Sometimes Jesus will put certain restrictions on our life for certain periods of time. He closes the door. He tells us “no.” In the moment, we think he’s just being harsh or unfair. He prohibits and he withholds. Why? Well, at least in this situation, the time wasn’t right. We know that at the end of the Gospel of Matthew Jesus calls these same disciples to every nation of the world (28:19). And, if you read the Old Testament, that was his plan all along. He was just waiting for the right time. First things first.
Perhaps you’re feeling hedged in today. And maybe even limited in your options. Well, we can see from Matthew that God is a God of order. All things have their time. A delay is not necessarily a denial. Trust that he has the master plan and he will have you in the right place at the right time.
