Genesis 1-3

Daily Devotional from Genesis 1--Verse 2
The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

When looking for a home, it’s nice to have curb appeal. Fresh paint, solid structure, manicured yard. But if a place is unfinished and the landscape hasn’t been put in, we’re likely going to move on to the next listing. However, God isn’t like that. He doesn’t move on when things aren’t right. Rather, he sees the potential, purchases the home, and begins his work. He’s not afraid of a big job.

Does he do any less today?

He didn’t redeem you and I because we were well refined and beautifully in order. He chose us because we were without form and void, and darkness covered the face of the deep. But he saw what we could become. And, as Philippians 1:6 says, he completes everything he sets out to do. And, one day, God will look upon everything he’s had made of you, and behold, it will be very good.
