Daily Devotional from Genesis 15--
Verses 5-6
And He brought Him outside and said, “Look toward heaven, and number the stars, if you are able to number them.” Then He said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” And he believed the Lord, and He counted it to him as righteousness.
God made Abram (Abraham) a promise and it required nothing of Abraham except that he believed it. Since he believed; God counted it to him as righteousness. Now we have been given the same opportunity to simply believe what God has told us. The things He promised that have already passed. That’s all you need to do is believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and you will be saved. It will be counted to you as righteousness; His sacrifice cleans you up! Such a simple yet life changing decision to believe what God says. Do you believe? What else has God promised you?
