Genesis 31-33

Daily Devotional from Genesis 32--

Verse 36
Then Jacob became angry and berated Laban. Jacob said to Laban, “What is my offense? What is my sin, that you have hotly pursued me?

Have you ever been treated poorly at a job or been falsely accused by someone you know? I know I’ve been angry when someone assaults my character. Jacob worked for Laban for 20 years and was treated horribly. When he finally left he was pursued and accused. Wouldn’t you be angry? I know I would be. Jacob had enough and let loose. But in this passage, we see that this time Rachel had actually stolen something from Laban.

The next time someone accuses you try to listen and take into consideration that there may be some truth to what the person is saying. Let’s not be too quick to dismiss what people have to tell us. Remain open to reason regardless of who is saying it.
