Genesis 46-48
Daily Devotional from Genesis 48--
Verses 15-16 (NIV)
Then he blessed Joseph and said, “May the God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked faithfully, the God who has been my shepherd all my life to this day, the Angel who has delivered me from all harm —may he bless these boys. May they be called by my name and the names of my fathers Abraham and Isaac, and may they increase greatly on the earth.”
It is often tempting to look on newer generations and see them as silly, or frivolous, or reckless, etc., but what we see Israel (Jacob) doing here is seeing the potential and praying blessings over these grandsons of his. More than that, he is praying that they be brought into the covenant promise of God.
The young generations of our community need our prayers and blessings. It’s in our name--Generations Church! They need our love, encouragement, and our intercession as they navigate a world of constant information intake that leads to feeling hopeless most of the time. Intercede and pray blessings and salvation over a young person today. They are desperate for it.
