Verse 8

Repent, for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand.

John knew what was up. He was proclaiming God’s Kingdom and calling the people to repent. I am so very thankful that we still get the opportunity to repent today. God is gracious because really His wrath is what we all deserve. God has always sent prophets to tell the people to repent. But now the Kingdom is here, Jesus has made a way: we have forgiveness of sins by His blood alone. Jesus loves us and is constantly even today shouting to the world “Repent, for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand”. If you haven’t given your life to Jesus, do it today!
