Psalm 107

Daily Devotional from Psalm 107—

Verses 6, 13, 19, 28
Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.

The poetry in this psalm is beautiful. It describes four groups of people: some lost in a wasteland, some sitting in the depths of the darkness of their rebellious hearts, some living a life of foolishness and sin, and some running the rat race of materialism and greed. Each group came to a point where they were at the end of their rope, and they cried out to the Lord…and He delivered them.

He didn’t make them go through a twelve-step program or get “cleaned up” before coming to their rescue. They cried out, and He delivered them. Period. Do you know someone who is lost, rebelling, foolish, or caught up in the things of the world? Pray for them, that they would recognize their need for God and cry out to Him, then show them the love of Jesus!
