2 Corinthians 9

Daily Devotional from 2 Corinthians 9—
 
Verses 6-8
The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.

Jesus died and He gave us the gift of eternal life. This starts as a seed in or hearts and throughout our life, it grows and transforms into a strong tree that bears fruit. When we know Christ we are able to spread this seed to the people around us and watch it multiply. You want to see souls saved? Sow bountifully!!!

This verse is also about giving. What we have is not our own, so when we are generous with our time, our finances, and our obedience we will indeed receive an abundance from God. We will have more than we need. God gives us what we need so THAT we may do good works, in other words, that we may sow! He doesn’t give us what we need after we do good works but before. So trust God, give today however the Holy Spirit directs you, and do it with a cheerful heart full of love.
