1 John 3
Daily Devotional from 1 John 3—
Verses 19-21
No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God.
This doesn’t mean that once we are saved, we don’t sin ever again. This means we don’t embrace a lifestyle of sin, our hearts shift toward the righteousness of God, toward Jesus. We now desire to be free from sin and live with God for all eternity. We will still sin, but it won’t be our mode of operation.
Think of all the areas of your life: what are things you're holding back from God or what sins have been prevalent? Keep this desire to learn from Jesus. In this life, we will continue to be refined and shaped until one day we bear the weight of glory as we dine with Jesus in heaven. Make a practice of leaning into what God is doing and He will refine all those things in your life.
