Psalm 130
Daily Devotional from Psalm 130—
Verse 5 (NIV)
I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope.
What are you waiting for? A better job? A spouse? A house? A debt to be paid off? Healing? World peace? Our whole existence on earth is as a waiting room. But ultimately, we are not waiting for any of these things or anything else. We are waiting until the day when we are reunited with our Maker. We’ve each been given a number of days on earth to learn His name and get to know Him in the capacity we’re able to.
So we’re sitting in this waiting room, and there is just one book on the table. His Word. His love letter to us. His guidebook to the universe. You don’t know how long or short your wait will be, so you best study that manual. I guarantee, when you get to your final appointment, He’ll want to know what you did with what He left you.
