Daily Devotional from Genesis 34--
Verse 30
Then Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, ‘You have brought trouble on me by making me stink to the inhabitants of the land…’
When we see injustice, our natural reaction is anger—and rightfully so. What we do with that anger says a lot about us. Dinah’s brothers were furious about the rape of their sister, and rightfully so. But what they did with that anger went far beyond just avenging her. They killed all the males in the town and plundered the entire city.
What are you doing with your anger when you see injustice? Do you go over the top, or do you turn and do something productive for those suffering? Those around us are watching our reactions, and as Christians our actions can say a lot to unbelievers. Are you making God and fellow believers “stink” to others in our land, or are you making them curious about the love of our Jesus?
