Verse 27
So shall they put my name upon the people of Israel, and I will bless them.
You’ve probably heard the blessing in verses 24-26. But did you notice that God is the one who gave Aaron and his sons the words to speak over the Israelites? Even more amazing is that we still hear this blessing spoken over us today—the very words of God given as a blessing to His people.
It’s easy to hear this blessing spoken over us, then walk away and immediately forget that God is with us, has our best in mind, speaks, and gives us the peace we need. The song “The Blessing” by Kari Jobe and Cody Carnes was taken directly from Numbers 6. I love worshipping with this song for so many reasons—most of all because we are singing the very words of God over one another.
