Verse 2
Moses wrote down their starting places, stage by stage.
Chapter 33 is basically a log of where the children of Israel had been for the last 40 years. It was a record of their journey.
Are you keeping a record of yours? Might be a good idea, especially if you move around as much as Israel did. If you count them, Israel moved 40 times in 40 years. And sometimes our spiritual lives can feel the same way. In the high places this month, in the doldrums the next. Traveling through the badlands in the wintertime and coming upon a fragrant meadow in the spring. But through it all, God is with us.
Moses recorded his journey. And lest we forget where we’ve been, maybe we should do the same. It doesn’t have to be fancy but perhaps you, like Moses, can keep a little journal of how God has led you, stage by stage.
