Daily Devotional from Deuteronomy 3--
Verse 22 (NIV)
Do not be afraid of [your enemies]; the Lord your God himself will fight for you.
The book of Deuteronomy is really interesting. It is a series of sermons from Moses to the people of Israel just before the conquest of the Promised Land and Moses’ death. It is a good overview of Israel’s story and how God had been faithful to them. Moses is giving them some encouragement before they set out under the new leadership of Joshua.
As we’ve seen time and time again throughout the story of Israel, God comes through for the Israelites, and all they need to do is trust.
Is there something in your life that God is asking you to cease fearing? God is behind you, in front of you, and protecting you on each side. God, the creator of the universe, who has already gained full victory, is fighting for you. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you deepen your trust in the King of Kings everyday for the rest of your life--starting now.
