Judges 3-4
Daily Devotional from Judges 4--
Verse 9
And she said, “I will surely go with you. Nevertheless, the road on which you are going will not lead to your glory, for the LORD will sell Sisera into the hand of a woman.”
God tends to use unexpected things for His glory. Not only was Jael a woman, she was not a warrior or an Israelite; her husband was actually an enemy of Israel.
It’s easy to assume certain people won’t be used by God, maybe you even wonder, “How could God use me?” No matter your physical appearance, gender, race, economic status, or past—God wants to have relationship with you, and to impact others through your unique experiences. We can see the proof of this in our passage today. God used Deborah, a woman, to lead His people, and he used Jael, a foreign woman, to bring freedom to His people.
God is equipping you to encourage and bring freedom to others! Let’s look past outward appearances and let this story encourage you that God can use anyone. Let’s see and hear His heart for us today, and be open to a better view of others and ourselves.
