Ezekiel 27-28

Daily Devotional from Ezekiel 28—

Verse 24
And for the house of Israel there shall be no more a brier to prick or a thorn to hurt them among all their neighbors who have treated them with contempt. Then they will know that I am the Lord GOD.

Israel has a long history of wars and oppression. They’ve been captured multiple times, often because they were stubborn and disobedient. Even though they treat God so poorly, He still promises to deliver them from their enemies and when he does, He says they will know He is the one and only GOD.

We have a similar promise. We live in a world where sin is everywhere and the consequences of sin affect all our lives. Romans 3:23 says ALL of us have fallen short of God’s glory. We have all sinned; the penalty for our sin is death. There has to be a punishment for wrong; there is no exception. So Jesus took the punishment – by giving His life. If you believe He did it then you are forgiven. Jesus is coming back and everyone will know GOD. Endure with patience, for the coming of the Lord is at hand and what a glorious day for those who believe!
