Daily Devotional from John 7--
Verse 38
He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water."
To believe in Jesus is to cling to, trust in, and completely rely on Him. Am I believing in Jesus with my whole heart or do I sometimes first try to rely on my own strength?
One of the many benefits of whole hearted belief in Jesus is that my life and my heart will flow with living waters. In this verse living waters is a symbol of the Holy Spirit. Jesus promises to give the Holy Spirit to anyone who would receive Him.
Other benefits of believing in Jesus with my whole heart are, receiving spiritual light; spiritual life; pardon from sin, a robe of righteousness, peace of conscience, unspeakable joy, riches of grace, dignity. A desire to pray, and the hope of Heaven.
As we go through our day, lets cling to, trust, and completely rely on Jesus; and the Holy Spirit to guide and direct us.
