Ezekiel 35-36

Daily Devotional from Ezekiel 36--

Verse 23
And I will vindicate the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, and which you have profaned among them. And the nations will know that I am the Lord, declares the Lord God, when through you I vindicate my holiness before their eyes.

Although God sent judgment on the nation of Israel for their sins, destroying their people, their Temple, their cites, and sending survivors into exile, this was not the end of the story.

To those who will repent and accept Him as Lord, He has a plan for restoration. The land is to be renewed to the level of the Garden of Eden, sin will be forgiven and relationship with God restored.

He will do all of this not because they deserve it, but to vindicate His name (His character). God is love (1 John 4:8) and for those who question His loving nature, He demonstrated it by sending His Son to take mankind’s penalty (John 3:16-17), giving them a new heart, and placing His Spirit within them so they can have the desire and the power to walk in obedience (Ezekiel 36:26-27).

What a loving God we have!
