Ezekiel 39-40

Daily Devotional from Ezekiel 40—

Verse 4
And the man said to me, “Son of man, look with your eyes, and hear with your ears, and set your heart upon all that I shall show you, for you were brought here in order that I might show it to you. Declare all that you see to the house of Israel.”

The prophets in the Old Testament had to share what they were hearing from God and sometimes he had them doing things that either put them in danger or made them look plain crazy. But in order to do these things for God the prophets had to be alert. They had to be listening for God’s instructions.

God is still speaking, He has work for us to do. If we remain alert and ready to serve, God will use us and sometimes it might look crazy or be dangerous but we are tasked to trust God. God knows what’s best, sometimes we get stuck on the details and worries. We have doubts about what God is telling us, but let’s not miss the big picture. What is God calling you to do today? Is it something small? Is it something radical? Listen intently, ask God what He desires of you and keep listening, you will hear Him.
