Philippians 2

Daily Devotional from Philippians 2--

Verses 12-13
Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.

Once we accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, we have it made! Don’t we? We are saved from paying the spiritual price for our sin. We get to go to heaven. God is on our side. Life will be a breeze! Won’t it?

Ask Job. Ask Paul. Ask your Christian friends who have experienced more life than you. What you will find is that living life is tough, and maybe even tougher than it was before. We need to grow in spiritual maturity after we are re-born. This takes work - to learn to depend on God when life gets tough, to increase in faith, to believe He is good, and has a better plan for our life than we could ever develop on our own. But He promises to work with us to become the person that will be pleasing to Him.

Thank you, Father!
