And, yet, she still has enough pluck to fire back the cleverest response imaginable. Essentially she says, “I’m here, and I will be counted!” Jesus just stands back, and, in awe, commends the outsider for her faith. And she left that day the possessor of a miracle. She came to do business with Jesus. And no amount of scrutiny was going to stand in her way. O Lord, grant us the same boldness to persist in prayer.
