Colossians 4

Colossians 4:18
I, Paul, write this greeting with my own hand. Remember my chains.

What a disturbing way to close a letter. Remember my chains.

Sometimes (oftentimes) when a person’s pain is not our own, we forget. We have our own schedules and challenges. We get busy. So, another person’s troubles can easily fade – out of sight, out of mind. That’s why I appreciate Paul’s reminder. Each of us have our chains. I’ve been trying to do a better job of writing them down so I can remember to pray and encourage my brothers and sisters. When infirm in body or afflicted in spirit, it’s nice to have the extra grace of knowing someone remembers our chains. We don’t bear them alone. Reach out to somebody today and let them know you have not forgotten their chain.
