Daily Devotional from Matthew 23--

Verse 37

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing!

Jerusalem has been known for killing prophets and treating them horribly. But God kept sending them. God out of his great love sent more people to let the people know God still loves them, if only they would turn back to this loving God. Eventually, God's very Son Jesus came and his treatment was no different, as a matter of fact He was treated worse because He was a completely innocent man. This innocent man Jesus was nailed to a cross and killed.

But this story ends with good news: Jesus died in your place! God still desires today to gather you under His wings and keep you warm, you can spend all eternity at His side if you believe Jesus died and rose again. God is persistent and He desires your whole heart. He made the option available to us but He loves us too much to force our hand. Choose to be all in with God today.
