Verses 37-38
And Jesus uttered a loud cry and breathed his last. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom.
Before Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, only the High Priest could come into the Holy Place and only once a year, following strict guidelines, because nobody was worthy to go behind the veil and be in the presence of God. But when Jesus died, He paid the price of our sin. Jesus makes us guiltless so we can come into the presence of God because we are made righteous by Jesus’ blood.
Now it has even been reversed: Instead of us having to go to the temple and do all these works to be close to God, He came to us and made us the temple for His presence.
Let’s give all praise today because today you have full access to God. Your sins are forgiven; you are made a temple for the Holy Spirit of God by faith alone in Christ alone.
