So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace and was being built up. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it multiplied.
How interesting.
Walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit. Now that’s an interesting tension.
Fear and comfort.
Fear is a motivator. We esteem the Lord so highly that we honor his every request. We care about what he sees and thinks. And, yet, we don’t run in the opposite direction. We know that he offers the best of all comforts. So, we nuzzle in close. This is God’s heart for his church—for each and every member of his church.
May God grant us favor to exemplify the best of these two virtues.
