Luke 16

Daily Devotional from Luke 16--

Verse 19-21
There was a rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and who feasted sumptuously every day. And at his gate was laid a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores, who desired to be fed with what fell from the rich man's table. Moreover, even the dogs came and licked his sores.

As troubling as this parable is, we need to be reminded that there is tragedy all around us. There are people suffering, hearts that are broken, and lives that are in desperate need of intervention. One of the things we can learn from this parable is that, while we are here, we have the opportunity to reach out to touch and share the suffering of others, to lighten their load and make a difference where it counts. Let’s ask Jesus, “How can you use me to make a difference in someone’s life today?” And let’s change lives, one random act of kindness at a time.
