Luke 2
Daily Devotional from Luke 2--
Verses 8-9
And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear.
You too can be doing your daily routine, maybe driving to work, doing dishes, mowing the lawn, and suddenly have the Lord Jesus Christ speak to you! You may have an urge to talk to someone nearby, or be prompted to call someone who needs an encouraging word. Maybe you will receive a specific word of knowledge to offer to someone. That’s the Holy Spirit!
The shepherds were following their usual routine, doing ordinary things they were accustomed to doing. Then their evening was brightly and fearfully interrupted. The Lord wanted to give them an amazing message. Their response was to immediately act on what they were told.
Let’s ask the Lord to speak to us in our daily activities. Then let’s respond in obedience, knowing the Lord wants to speak to and through us.
