Proverbs 22
Daily Devotional from Proverb 22—
Verses 17-18
Incline your ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply your heart to my knowledge,
for it will be pleasant if you keep them within you, if all of them are ready on your lips.
Why do we continue to read the Bible year after year after year? Because it is a Fount of Wisdom and Encouragement. It offers an eternal Hope that is always true no matter what age we live in.
This verse says that keeping the wisdom of the Bible close to our hearts and ready on our lips will bring pleasantness. One could infer that NOT dwelling on and studying the Bible will result in Unpleasantness! If you are not on track to finish reading the New Testament with us by the end of this year, that’s okay! Commit now to getting through as much of it as you can, and then make a fresh commitment to start new in 2023! Get a Bible reading buddy if you need to help keep you on track! The result will be pleasantness in your life.
